At least four Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli army troops after the latter stormed the Old Quarter of the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to eyewitnesses.

"The army used teargas and live ammunition to disperse dozens of Palestinian youths who threw stones at Israeli troops and blocked roads with burning tires," one eyewitness, speaking anonymously due to fears of reprisal, said.

According to Palestinian medical sources, four Palestinians injured by live ammunition were taken to Nablus’s Rafidia governmental hospital, while dozens of others were treated at the scene after suffering temporary asphyxia due to teargas inhalation.

The Israeli army frequently carries out raids on West Bank towns and villages on the pretext of searching for illegal weapons and “wanted” Palestinians.
