Tamdeen Shopping Centres announced today that it will host the world’s largest cultural exhibition in collaboration with the Arab World Institute in Paris, a foundation established to promote Arabic and the Arab world's cultural heritage and spiritual values around the world. The exhibition, titled Oum Kalsoum, “the Fourth Pyramid”, provides a unique opportunity for people to re-discover one of the highly acclaimed and revered figures in the history of Arab music along with her unique lifestyle and achievements.
The exhibition will be held from July 8th until November 8th 2009 and features four sections each showcasing a combination of multimedia sequences, personal belongings, archived documents and contemporary artworks.
The first section of the exhibition, entitled ‘Icon’, reveals the persona of Oum Kalsoum, her social milieu and the prevailing socio-cultural factors that influenced and formed her career. The second section, entitled 'Talent', shows the ambitious singer and highlights the sources of her success.

The third section, entitled 'Activism', showed visitors the close engagement of Oum Kalsoum in her political life as a feminist as well as a catalyst for Arab Nationalism. The final and fourth section, entitled 'Heritage' unveiled images of the artist as a continuing source of inspiration.
