Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality group, has been commended by TANMIA, The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, for their dedication and continuous commitment to Emiratisation in the hospitality industry. In a recent ceremony, Essa Al Zaabi, Manager of Dubai TANMIA Office, presented senior Jumeirah management with the TANMIA commendation award.
The award comes as a group of UAE Nationals recently completed a two week training programme with Jumeirah. As part of Jumeirah’s ongoing commitment to Emiratisation in the Hospitality & Tourism industry, the 26 Nationals will now begin their careers in a variety of departments including reservations, guest services, training, information technology and security.
The two-week programme, called Al Tawteen, is specially developed and designed for Nationals and explores all aspects of working in the hospitality industry and identifies personal training needs for each individual. All 26 Nationals received a certificate marking the completion of the programme at the ceremony at The Jumeirah Beach Hotel last week. Guy Crawford, Chief Operating Officer for Jumeirah; Mike Newnham, Chief Human Resources Officer for Jumeirah and Amal Ghani, Emiratisation Manager, Jumeirah, were present along with Essa Al Zaabi.
“The hotel and tourism industry is growing fast and offers many opportunities for Nationals. Tanmia believes that programmes such as Al Tawteen help Nationals attain essential skills and we would like to thank Jumeirah for giving such an opportunity to all Nationals that are interested in the hotel industry in Dubai,” said Essa Al Zaabi.
Amal Ghani said: “At Jumeirah we are very committed to hiring and developing UAE Nationals and we are proud to receive this award from TANMIA that recognises our commitment. We welcome all 26 Nationals that have completed the Al Tawteen programme to Jumeirah and wish them well in their new positions.”
Jumeirah properties are regarded as among the most luxurious and innovative in the world and have won numerous international travel and tourism awards. Jumeirah has also expanded internationally and manages the Jumeirah Carlton Tower and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel in London’s Belgravia.
Building on this success, Jumeirah has become a member of Dubai Holding, a collection of leading Dubai based businesses and projects, in a step that aims to initiate a new phase of growth and development for the group.
