It’s heating up in the desert as the whistle is blown for the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is celebrating the global football tournament with its guests throughout the month long tournament.
For football fans and guests alike the five start luxury resort located in the famed Liwa desert, just 90 minutes from Abu Dhabi is presenting a unique and unsurpassed backdrop to watch the world’s greatest football teams battle it out for the winning trophy.
From 11 June 2010 until 11 July 2010, each match will be shown on a large flat screen at the luxurious resort where friends and families can gather to cheer on their favourite team.
To add to the excitement and bring a taste of South Africa to the United Arab Emirates, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara will be serving an exclusive choice of Special Edition wines from Nederburg, South Africa’s most successful producer of the year at the 2009 International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.
Cellar master Razvan Macici, a South African winemaker since 1994, has developed a collection of three South African wines available throughout the tournament. The three limited-edition wines are a Cabernet Sauvignon, a dry rosé, and a Sauvignon Blanc.
The wines will be complemented with a selection of tantalizing cheeses including from around the world to satisfy a range of taste buds.
