Two people have died in Alexandria, Egypt, in clashes between supporters and opponents of deposed President Morsi, Egyptian news agency MENA has reported.

19 people have also been injured in today's demonstrations, the news agency said.

The BBC reported that the injuries were the result of stone-throwing between Morsi and Susi supporters.

Cries of "Sisi out! Morsi is president! Down with the army!" were being chanted, according to the BBC.

Meanwhile in Cairo, Morsi supporters have gathered around Cairo's Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque, and are holding a sit-in protest. The mood there has so far been mostly calm, with stewards present to verify no weapons are carried by demonstrators, the BBC reported.

Tens of thousands of army supporters have gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square, with many holding up posters of General Sisi.
