Under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance & Industry, Chairman of Dubai Health Authority, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, inaugurates first Drug Design and Discovery conference in the Middle East, in cooperation with the international specialized company Eureka, and with the participation of a large number of Nobel laureates and renowned researchers in the field of Drug Design from 55 countries.
Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, said that organizing such a vital conference reflects the keenness of HCT to make a difference as a leading academic institution. Dr. Kamali further emphasized the importance of the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance & Industry, Chairman of Dubai Health Authority.
This conference, which will attract 500 pioneers in the field of Drug Design, aims to reveal the status of Drug Design in the region and worldwide, casting light on the obstacles that may impede progress and giving a futuristic view in light of the continuous prosperity in the various fields of the global economy, especially Drug Design, which is considered one of the most promising and profit making industries in the world.
Dr. Kamali called attention to the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, for strengthening relations with leading academic and research institutions around the world and ensuring responsiveness to the current issues of society at the regional and global levels.
Dr. Kamali added that the topics of discussion at the conference will include the future of Drug Design and finding effective alternatives to ensure self-sufficiency in drug design in the region. Other topics will include treatments for Cancer, Cardiovascular diseases, and other chronic diseases.
