The 16th LG Dead Sea Ultramarathon Activities Begin With the Participation of 1200 Runners

The Society for Care of Neurological Patients (SCNP) recently announced that the number of participants in the 16th LG Dead Sea Ultramarathon (LG DSUM) in Jordan, scheduled on April 10th, under the patronage of HRH Prince Raad Bin Zeid, the Chief Chamberlain, has reached 1200 participants to date.

The meeting point for participants will be at the Philadelphia National Schools / the Seventh Circle, at five a.m.; the LG DSUM finish line and the announcement of the winners’ names will take place at Amman Tourist Beach. The roads to the Dead Sea will be closed in the morning, for the comfort and safety of the runners.

The LG DSUM consists of five runs, the Ultramarathon (48.7 km), the marathon (42 km), the half-marathon (21 km), the Fun Run (10 km), and Junior Marathon (4.2 km).

It is worth mentioning that the official sponsors of the LG DSUM are: LG Electronics, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Aquafina, Emirates Airlines, MEC, Jordan Television, Picasso, Kassab, Scholl, Moonlight for Tourism and Travel, Sawt Al Ghad radio station, Sunny FM, Grand Hyatt Amman, Layalina magazine, Cozmo, National Paints, Addustour newspaper, Jordan Today magazine, Movenpick, and supporting government organizations like the Public Security and Civil Defense. 

 

 

The LG DSUM, the main fund-raising event for the SCNP, raises awareness towards the Society's existence, provides neurological patients with medical aid, and helps cover the costs of necessary surgeries. It also aims to increase awareness towards the benefits of running, by gathering people of different age groups, from all around the globe, to join in this unique event to run to the lowest point on earth.
