The general manager of the mobile phone communications at the Saudi Telecommunications Company, Ziad Al Utaibi, has said that his company has installed 56 towers for mobile phones in the area surrounding the holy mosque of Mecca, according to Al Watan Arabic daily on Friday.
The official added that 89 other towers have been erected in Mina and Aziziyyah in addition to 91 stations at Arafat Mount and Muzdalifah, all places in the holy city where pilgrims perform rituals.
The project is aimed at facilitating telephone communications for the two million pilgrims performing the yearly Hajj– Albawaba.com
