According to IBTimes, Islamic State militants in Libya have beheaded at least 11 people, mainly soldiers, at a checkpoint in the Al-Jufra region in Libya.

"At least nine soldiers were beheaded...in addition to two civilians" a source told AFP. The attack reportedly took place at a checkpoint around 500km south of Tripoli, which is currently under the control of Khalifa Haftar and his forces.

Militants have gained much ground in Libya since the fall of Qaddafi in 2011 as various in-groups continue to fight each other to establish themselves as the governing power of the country.
