The death toll from a bombing in a predominantly Kurdish city in southeastern Turkey climbed to 10 Wednesday after three people died of their wounds. It was the country's deadliest single bombing since an al-Qaeda attack three years ago.

Seven children were among the victims, the state-owned Anatolia news agency reported. Fourteen other people were injured, the agency added.

A Kurdish news agency reported that the incident took place near an elementary school in Diyarbakir, the largest Kurdish-majority city in Turkey's southeast. According to the AP, authorities were investigating whether the bomb was detonated by remote control.
