ALBAWABA - During overnight clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces, at least one Palestinian was killed in the Nur Shams camp in the West Bank city of Tulkarm, while 17 others were detained across a number of cities including Jerusalem and Hebron.

Identified as Ayed Samih Abu Harb, the young Palestinian was killed this morning by Israeli fire during an Israeli forces raid on Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm, which left heavy destruction in the infrastructure in the camp and city, according to medical and local sources, WAFA reported.

"The army had come with bulldozers to destroy some roads inside the camp. Soon after they entered the camp, clashes erupted between some militants and soldiers," a resident of Nur Shams camp told AFP.

Army bulldozers accompanying the forces destroyed the main street close to the camp's entrance, which is considered a main artery linking the city of Tulkarm to many areas east of the governorate and the Nablus governorate, as well as a number of vehicles and shops in the camp.

This was the third Israeli forces raid into the camp in two months, during which the community had been subjected to violence, vandalism of its street infrastructure, and destruction of its homes, particularly those on the camp's main street.

On the other hand, 17 Palestinians were detained in various raids across the West Bank according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.

According to local media, six Palestinians were detained in the Hebron governorate in the south of the West Bank, five from the town of Halhoul, north of Hebron, and one from the Arroub refugee camp.

Soldiers arrested two Palestinians near Yabad, south of Jenin, in the West Bank city of Jenin, after an Israeli jeep crashed into a motorcycle the two were riding.

Israeli forces also detained five persons in Ramallah, two of them were students at Birzeit University, while three others were detained in a raid at the Amari refugee camp, south of the city.
