Sama Airlines, the newest Low-Fare Carrier in Saudi Arabia, announced that it has achieved flown more than one million passenger bookings since it’s launch on 18th March 2007. Bookings have increased by 100% over the last 4 months, with more than 500,000 bookings being made through the Sama website www.flysama.com.  This announcement came at the start of the Arabian Travel Market 2008 in Dubai, which begins Today from 6-9 May 2008.

On this occasion, Mr. Andrew Cowen, Sama CEO said: “We are pleased to announce today that Sama Airlines exceeded one million passenger bookings on the 12th of April, which is a new record for Sama. 2008 has seen a strong start for Sama, we were able to increase our destinations to 13 domestic and 9 international destinations, connected with more than 20 routes with Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah. To double our number of passengers in 4 months from Dec 2007 to Apr 2008, compared with 500,000 within 8 months is a major achievement. The total bookings made through flysama.com have exceeded 500,000 reservations, which makes Sama one of the leading e-commerce companies in Saudi Arabia”

Sama launched a special marketing competition to encourage passengers to be “the One Millionth Passenger”) with the winner earning for his/her family, free travel for one year to any Sama destination. The winner will be announced today at the Sama stand at the Arabian Travel Market.

“Launching new international destinations with continuous marketing promotions, and our ongoing efforts to improve operational performance, has enabled Sama to double the number of passengers. We still have a lot to offer both from an operational or marketing side to our passengers. And Sama will increase their fleet to 20-30 aircraft by 2010, enabling low fares to be brought too many more destinations. We are working harder to be the preferred carrier for travellers in the Middle East” Andrew Cowen said.

Sama flies to 13 domestic destinations (Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Abha, Jizan, Hail, Arar, Jouf, Tabouk, Rafha, and Bisha) and 9 international destinations across the Middle East (Abu-Dhabi, Sharjah, Amman, Damascus, Latakia, Aleppo, Beirut, Alexandira, and Asiut). Sama offers various ways for booking, such as the website (www.flysama.com) or Call Centre 9200 05588, or Sales Centre in all the main cities (Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, Abha) and the Airports, or our Authorised Travel Agents (Inside Saudi Arabia and outside). With various option for paying (Cash, Credit Card, Sadad).
