The USA Rice Federation has once again teamed up with the Emirates Culinary Guild to launch the 2nd American Rice Cooking competition in the United Arab Emirates. The event will take place with the support of WÜSTHOF: Knife Makers to the World Since 1814.

The annual event was launched last year to identify the UAE’s leading chefs and to provide the platform for them to compete against each other in a variety of different categories.

The American Rice Cooking Competition is open to all professional chefs in the UAE. Competing Chefs have the opportunity to submit two healthy recipes that must include American rice, a hot dish and a cold dish. There is US$3000 to be won in each of these categories. All finalists will also receive a set of three knives from WÜSTHOF.

Once the entries have been submitted, a panel of senior chefs under the supervision of Chef Uwe Micheel, President of the Emirates Culinary Guild, will select the finalists, who will be then required to showcase their recipe in a cook-off competition to be held at Radisson SAS Hotel, Creek, Dubai on January, 6th of January 2009.

The winner will be chosen based on the creativity, taste, appearance and health content of the dish.
