Environmental Education is a need for recognizing values and helpful concepts to develop skills and new tools necessary to understand and appreciate the inter-relationship between man, his culture and his surrounding environment. With this principal issue, an educational outreach initiative titled “My Green Kingdom” will be implemented in Saudi Arabia to raise awareness of children and their families on environmental issues.
This project is launched in cooperation with the Saudi Academic Company of Educational Services (ACES), an independent company that seeks excellence and pioneering in education and training by implementing educational content base projects, the Austrian Middle East Environment Protection Association (AIMEEPA) a non profit organization based in Vienna , concerned with environment matters in the Middle East, with a role of forging cooperation between non governmental organizations, governments and private sector in Europe, Middle East and North Africa, and Jordan Pioneers, the educational multimedia company based in Amman and a producer of educational outreach components and TV programs, which utilizes different multimedia tools with high tech standards, specialized in educational projects and social programs.
Together ACES, Jordan Pioneers and AIMEEPA will implement “My Green Kingdom” project through an interactive and dynamic teaching system consisting of media and outreach components, integrating children from early ages (4-7 years), parents and educators into a conscious environmental awareness that they will carry during their whole lives.
Following a representation given by CEO of AIMEEPA, Nally Muek, before representatives from the Ministry of Education, Development, Defense, Tourism and Environment in Saudi Arabia, a five year memorandum of understanding was signed between the partners to implement this, and many other educational and awareness projects, in benefit of the Saudi society complying with the policy of the Saudi government, to raise awareness on environmental issues.
The three partners will concentrate on finding a local educational base to ensure constant media production and distribution that enrich the life of Saudi children and prepare them for the future by means of training on filed, workshops, educational outreach materials, TV programs, and awareness announcements. The project will also help in developing the environment educational resources adopted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on an approved systematic research.
“My Green Kingdom” project includes three fundamental objectives: environment sources, protection, and management. The global and local efforts exerted to protect the environment, through Environment Sustainable Developments (ESD).
