Toshiba Computer Systems today announced the winner of its World Cup ‘Top Tips’ competition. Entrants were invited to take part in an online competition, giving them the chance to win a Qosmio G30 notebook computer valued at more than AED 12,000.

To coincide with the World Cup, Toshiba put together a survival guide for women with 10 tips on how to hold onto their significant others during Germany 2006. Entrants were asked to submit their individual tips for the campaign, with a prize given to the person who came up with the most creative survival tip for wives and girlfriends during the World Cup.

"Shout - pass the ball you flatfooted halfwit! - at the TV during matches to look as if you understand the game", was the winning tip! Moral of the story, according to Briton Jennifer Reid, was that girls need to keep up with the lingo to be able to survive a sporting event like the World Cup.

Mrs Reid said: "The only way I know to survive these big events is to plunge in head first. I loved the world cup after all and I am ecstatic to have won such a great prize. I am looking forward to many enjoyable hours watching movies on my new notebook!”

The stylish Qosmio G30, which attracted a large entry, is Toshiba’s most advanced converged notebook PC to date and is ideal for people looking for a truly state-of-the-art personal entertainment experience.

"The competition was about getting involved and Mrs Reid encapsulated its spirits perfectly in her tip! We are happy to present her with her prize and are sure that she will enjoy her Qosmio for years to come, as it is a machine that is built to last,” commented Ahmed Khalil, General Manager for Toshiba Computer Systems, Middle East and Africa.
