Through the expansion of digital broadcasting and the growing popularity of high definition products, people are becoming more familiar with wide screen high definition quality.For this reason, the desire to experience the impact of high definition on the wide screen is intensifying.To keep up with this rapidly growing market, we’ve focused on developing affordable high quality wide screen projectors for enjoyment at home.In comparison with last year, the amount of entertainment projectors used at home in 2006 is expected to grow by 126% to approximately 92,000 total units.

In addition, the image mode can be adjusted to suit any genre, (there are 7 total modes) and it is so simple to adjust that even a first-time user can enjoy using it.And because we’re also concerned with image quality control, the advanced mode provides a range of detailed adjustments for the professional user to choose from.

1)Using the ‘12 Bit Digital Processing IC [6]’for deeper resolution

The 12 bit digital processor input achieves higher image quality (with the video decoder, scalar and gamma curve generator). The Z5 captures subtle nuances in expressive detail and the result is a deeper, richer reproduction of the original images.

2)‘New Twin Iris’ Yields 10000:1 Contrast Ratio[7]

The ‘New Twin Iris’ improves upon the speed and accuracy of the Z4 model’s dual-iris aperture system.Integrating the lens aperture and lamp aperture, this new smoother system delivers true-to-life images with outstanding gradation. Furthermore, the Z5 provides greater control for the lamp brightness.It achieves a contrast level as high as 10000:1 that can be used in varied environments to deliver rich, deep images.

3)‘3-D Color Management’ for rich color reproduction

You can adjust and save (the level, hue and gamma curve) any color. Fine-tuning the image settings this way enables effective color correction to suit your taste.

We’ve retained the broader focal length and 2X zoom lens from the PLV-Z4.Because of the demands of the wide screen we’ve not only had to adapt the size of the image to the narrow space of a living room, we’ve made it possible to adjust the lens vertically and horizontally for accurate projection and produced the most flexible set-up capability.  We’ve included the accessories to mount the projector from the ceiling[9] so that you’re able to easily incorporate the projector into the design of any room.These savvy installation options allow you to determine the best layout and arrangement for the projector in your home.

3. “ ‘First in Class’[10] Digital HDMI Interface and Two Sets of Component Video Inputs”

* Because the sources for high-resolution images i.e.; HD-DVD, Blu-ray disc, digital broadcasting, etc., continue to evolve, the Z5 comes equipped with an HDMI terminal that has 2 other sets of component inputs, which expand your viewing options.We’ve also made it more convenient and enjoyable to hook up additional components, like DVD players and video game consoles, easily through a cable connection.
