Retail City and InRetail to Highlight ‘One-Stop-Shop’ for Industry Professionals

Cityscape organisers of Retail City, the international retail real estate exhibition and conference and dmg world media Dubai Ltd, the organisers of InRetail, the exhibition for suppliers of products and services to the retail industry, have pooled their resources to create a joint initiative.

Organisers for InRetail and Retail City have forged an alliance to provide the retail industry with an extensive offering. Retail City will aim to bring together international and regional retail property professionals to develop new joint ventures, exchange views, identify new investment opportunities and encourage retailers and franchises to set up shop in the Middle East.

Retail City International Exhibition Director, Franck Dailles said, “Together we are launching two new retail shows simultaneously. It is vital that our messaging is clear, concise and consistent so that retail professionals right across the industry spectrum understand our combined ‘one-stop-shop’ solution.”

InRetail provides a platform for suppliers to share their expertise with the region’s retailers, supermarkets and shopping malls, showcasing diverse products and services from shopfitting to mannequins, retail design to lighting, point of sale to audio visual, logistics handling to secure displays.

Combined, the two events will provide an all-embracing forum for the retail industry the likes of which has never been seen before in the Middle East.

Paula Al Chami, Exhibition Director, InRetail commented, “The entire retail industry is experiencing unprecedented growth throughout the region. By creating a joint marketing campaign we will reach a much broader cross-section of industry specialists ultimately securing the success of both events to the benefit of not only exhibitors and visitors, but the industry as a whole.”

According to industry analysts, over the next five years the GCC will have developed a total of eleven million square metres of retail floor space, five million of which is already complete. This provides scope for more than 200 retail developments accommodating an estimated 27,000 retail outlets. In excess of US$65 billion is currently invested in the GCC retail sector and with an additional four million square metres of potential but so far uncommitted retail development the investment figure could rise to as much as US$88 billion by 2010.

In terms of marketing, the two exhibition organisers will co-produce a supplement with Retail Middle East magazine and collaborate on direct marketing projects, such as e-mail broadcasts. A public relations campaign is already underway and other promotional concepts will be explored during further marketing meetings, including on-site marketing and media relations.

InRetail and Retail City are due to open their doors at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) on 4-6 June 2006.
