NBK continues summer intern training

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has recently successfully concluded the fourth session and launched the fifth session of its 2011 Summer Internship Program. The custom-made program consists of two-week courses specially designed for high school and college students between 15 and 20 years old. 

NBK Public Relations Officer, Talal Al Turki said the Summer Internship Program is an extension of NBK's education outreach services. The program demonstrates NBK’s long-standing social involvement as well as its commitment to providing Kuwait’s younger generations with appropriate opportunities to experience firsthand professional banking practices. 

Al Turki added that the five-hour daily sessions feature a mix of theoretical and practical training dedicated to providing interns with invaluable knowledge on a variety of subjects including team work, creative thinking, means of self expression and modern banking procedures, in addition to giving interns greater exposure to daily banking practices and procedures. 

One of the highlights of the fourth summer internship session included a field trip to Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyya (DAI). Projects Coordinator at DAI, Amal Al-Hazzaa has received and welcomed the interns. Al Hazzaa spoke to the interns about the background and hands-on experience in Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyya. DAI is a cultural organization based on a private Kuwaiti art collection. Since its inception in 1983, DAI has grown from a single focus organization created to manage the loan of the prestigious al-Sabah collection of art from the Islamic world to the State of Kuwait to become an internationally recognized cultural organization. 

NBK regularly organizes and designs events for Kuwait’s youth to improve their skills and familiarize them with banking and finance.
