The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA), together with the municipalities of Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain city, and the Western Region are sponsoring and participating in the Tawdheef Exhibition taking place from 25-27 January at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The municipal system’s participation in the event is further evidence of its commitment to implementing the Government of Abu Dhabi’s vision of developing the numbers of skilled Emiratis, raising levels of performance and achieving excellence across the many different municipal projects and initiatives that are currently underway.

With an ambitious plan to develop rewarding career paths which will contribute to the sustainable development of the Emirate in a variety of sectors that are important to the Emirate’s future such as construction, real estate, engineering, information systems, project and contracts management, strategic planning, and urban planning, the DMA and the three municipalities are seeking to recruit Emiratis who are looking for rewarding and challenging career paths in the municipal sector.

This municipal system’s participation at Tawdheef is also a good example of how it is working in partnership with stakeholders such as the Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, who are organising the event.

The municipal system’s participation comes as part of considering recruitment a key part of its work as it seeks to provide the best municipal services, contribute to community needs and raise the quality of life in the Emirate.  The DMA and the municipalities of Abu Dhabi are committed to recruiting the best people who can contribute to the success and implementation of municipal initiatives and projects in the Emirate, especially in the construction and building sector as the new building codes have been launched.  The municipal system believes that investing in the citizens will contribute to the sustainable development of the Emirate.   The DMA and the three municipalities seek to recruit as many professional Emiratis at Tawdheef as they did at Najah 2010 to help achieve Abu Dhabi’s vision.

The municipal system’s participation at the 2010 Najah Exhibition attracted a great deal of attention and interest from visitors, and used an electronic applications system that will also be used at Tawdheef 2011 to record all the applications and CVs that were submitted, and assist the DMA and the three municipalities of Abu Dhabi with any future recruitment drives.
