Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is clinically depressed and spending all day in his hospital bed, a top Egyptian official says.

The official told Fox News Tuesday the ousted dictator is still in a hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik, contradicting earlier reports that he had been transferred to a military hospital in Cairo. He will go to Cairo once he is able to board a helicopter, the official said.

Doctors say Mubarak, 82, spends all day in bed with his wife Suzanne by his side, eating very little. He was hospitalized after reportedly suffering heart distress during police questioning last week.

No formal charges have been filed as yet.

A doctor accused of trying to take a cellphone photo of Mubarak has been removed from his care, reports said.
