Microsoft converses with the media on Cloud Computing

Microsoft Jordan in collaboration with guest speaker Dr. Nabeel Al Fayoumi, Chief Information Officer of the Government of Jordan, addressed the media on a different type of engagement known as the ‘ICT University’, which focused on Cloud Computing and the Government of Jordan’s eGovernment initiative. The training session took place at the Sheraton Hotel as part of Microsoft’s efforts to provide media representatives with up-to-date information on the latest innovations and technologies in the ICT world.
Dr. Nabeel Al-Fayoumi stated, “Today’s event provides a great platform for technology experts to converse with the media on the most up-to-date developments in the industry, and Cloud Computing is an innovation that influences every individuals daily lives— any consumer that has a computer and Internet access can benefit from at least one cloud based service.”
Maher Al-Khaiyat, Marketing Lead of Microsoft Jordan, stated, "The ICT university is all about interacting with the media and encouraging open discussions on the latest updates in ICT trends that are valuable in our day to day lives. This year we’re focusing on Cloud Power as we are witnessing a rapid growth in cloud computing around the world for businesses and individuals alike.”
Cloud Computing is perceived as the next big thing since PCs. It has already found its way into the average consumer’s life and individuals are already operating in the cloud without even knowing it. Anyone’s personal IT footprint can almost entirely exist in the cloud from receiving emails on mobile devices to banking eservices and online shopping, the Cloud is an IT system that individuals use in their personal lives because they choose to use it.
