Samir Abdel Rahman, an architect at a leading consultancy firm, has accused the now-dissolved State Security Agency, Mubarak’s most volatile security body, of torturing him by using computers hooked up to satellites, according to the semi-official newspaper Al-Ahram.

He added in a complaint he filed to Egypt’s Prosecutor-General Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud that he was subjected to this “highly sophisticated” method of torture even when he was out on the street.

Al-Ahram quoted Abdel-Rahman as saying that he had lost his job due to the alleged torture, which made him lose control of himself.

“Spy satellite devices have amazing, secret capacities, such as taking images from inside buildings, reading the human mind and controlling the brain by using electromagnetic waves,” he said.

The Chief Prosecutor, according to the newspaper, has ordered the complaint be vetted by an ad-hoc committee.
