Britain will move Tornado and Typhoon warplanes to bases near Libya in the "coming hours", Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday. "At Cabinet this morning, we agreed the UK will play its part," Cameron told parliament, according to AFP.
"Preparations to deploy these have already started and in the coming hours they will move to airbases from where they can take the necessary action."
According to Cameron, action was urgent to prevent Libyan Leader Kadhafi's forces attacking the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.
Meanwhile, a Libyan rebel spokesman has dismissed the cease-fire announcement by Kadhafi's regime, claiming his forces are still attacking key cities in the east and the west. Libya's Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa announced Friday that the government will stop all military operations.
