A diplomatic source in Ankaran Tuesday said that the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador to protest recent comments by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak who described Turkey's new intelligence chief as a "supporter of Iran." AFP reported that the Israeli Ambassador Gabby Levy was summoned on Monday to the Foreign Ministry to inform him of the Turkish anger over Barak's comments.

The Israeli minister voiced his fear that the new intel chief will convey a sensitive information to Iran. Barak made these comments in a closed security forum.
