Clashes broke out in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula leaving three women dead, reports Reuters.
Two of the women were killed by a rocket-propelled grenade. According to Reuters, militants launched a rocket-propelled grenade at a military checkpoint, but hit a house instead, killing two women. Four others, including two children, were also injured by the stray grenade.
A third woman was killed by a stray bullet in crossfire between militants and security forces.
Numerous clashes have rocked the volatile region of Egypt in recent weeks.
On February1st, 2015, just one day before this incident, Sinai militants attacked three checkpoints in the eastern city of Rafah using more rocket-propelled grenades.
And on January 29th, 2015 a mortar attack in northern Sinai killed 20 and injured 36.
