Arab diplomatic sources involved in the closed meeting of the Arab foreign ministers Wednesday in Cairo, said it was agreed to postpone the Arab summit from the end of March to the end of May. The summit was scheduled to be held on March 29 in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, but "the current developments in a number of Arab countries" led to the postponement of the summit to the end of May.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Ben Helli told reporters Tuesday evening at the conclusion of the meetings of on the level of permanent delegates, that it was agreed to pass a draft resolution to the ministers calling "for the rejection of any foreign military intervention in Libya."
It should be noted that the Arab League chief Amr Musa plans to quit his post after the next summit and run for Egypt presidency.
