The campaign against corruption will be ramped up next week if and when the Shoura Council discusses a proposal for the protection of whistleblowers.

The council will discuss a proposal on the “System for the Protection of Whistleblowers on Financial and Administrative Corruption.”

The proposal was submitted by Dr. Mu’adi Al-Madhhab under Article 23 of the Shoura Council and it gives protection to whistleblowers from harassment.

The proposal also aims to promote the integrity and protection of whistleblowers from exclusion, dysfunction, administrative abuse or retaliation in their work environment by their respective organizations, superiors, and colleagues in the event that their identities are divulged.

“The aim of the proposal is to reduce complaints and malicious statements, and to increase citizens’ trust in the various organs of state,” local media reported.

If and when the proposal materializes, it’s expected that it will attract foreign investors by creating an attractive investment environment that encourages investors, in line with Vision 2030 plan.
