Egyptian special forces have been secretly entered Libya to back the rebellion against Moammar Gaddafi, the Mirror newspaper reported on Thursday. The elite troops moved in as the Libyan leader vowed to die in Libya.

The British newspaper reported that Egyptian troops have been allowed into Libya by Tunisian soldiers – as a sign of increasing Arab support to the anti-Gaddafi uprising.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday battles raged for control of the key oil port town of Brega. Rebels also gathered to defend the nearby airport and city of Ajdabiya. They claimed to repel Gaddafi’s forces and said they had taken a number of prisoners.
