Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his intention to go to Egypt for talks with President Hosni Mubarak to enhance security and promote the peace process, despite widespread accusations being made by officials in Egypt, that the Israeli "Mossad" was involved in the Saturday's attack on the Church of Saints in Alexandria and the recent exposure of an Israeli spy network in Cairo.
Netanyahu said during a meeting with leaders of his Likud party: "I will head to Egypt on Thursday," adding," We have one goal and is to strengthen security and go forward with the peace process."
His comments come as Israel's Labour party threatened to withdraw from the coalition due to the stalled peace process. It should be mentioned that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak last month blamed Israel for the collapse of peace negotiations with the Palestinians, calling on the international community and especially the United States to move seriously and effectively in this regard.
