Eyewitnesses and medical sources said on Wednesday that at least 150 people were wounded when Yemeni security forces tried to break a rally in the city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea coast. The demonstrators demanded an end to the regime of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Yemen has witnessed weeks of protests trying to end the 32 year rule of Saleh. Over 30 people were killed so far.
A doctor who treated protestors in the city of Hodeidah, said hundreds of armed security forces and police personnel who wore civilian clothes attacked the demonstrators. He added: "They used tear gas, rubber bullets and live fire."
