At least 32 people died and 28 others were injured Saturday when a suicide bomber exploded in a bus carrying Shiite pilgrims in Iraq, police and interior ministry officials said. The attack occurred between Baghdad and Samarra.
Most of the casualties were Shiite pilgrims heading back south to Nasiriya from Samarra in the north.
Meanwhile, Iraqi police uncovered a mass grave north of Baghdad on Saturday with 153 bodies of Al-Qaeda victims, many of them women, children and members of the security forces, General Abdul Hussein al-Sahamari, the police chief of restive Diyala province told AFP. The mass grave is located in the agricultural region of al-Tarf, 20 kilometres south of the provincial capital of Baquba.
