Lebanese journalist Fadi Derbas said that what happened in Tunisia was an uprising of the slaves against a despotic ruler and this is "supposed to happen in all the Arab countries without exception," pointing out that Egypt was the second stop of liberation. In the same context, the Yemeni journalist Fares Jalal said: "Without any doubt, the revolution in Tunisia will take place in several other Arab countries" He went on to say: "The Arab peoples who have suffered decades from the looting of their freedom and dignity as a result of dictatorship and the repression exerted by these regimes had been waiting for the start, which was initially sparked by the young Tunisian man Mohamed Bouazizi. The flame ignited by this young man is on the way to Yemen after it swept Egypt," he said. According to him, in the event the Egyptian ruler will be toppled, the revolution may expand to other Arab countries.
For her part, Saudi journalist Najat Wouhishi said "The situation in the Arab world is similar with small differences. All these people need was the idea of a hero "who will make the first step and the hero intentionally or unintentionally is the son of Tunisia."
The Bahraini political activist Zainab Derazi said "the astonishing thing in the revolution of dignity and freedom was that it started in Tunisia a country that enjoys better economic conditions compared to other Arab countries." And she added "the myth that regime change in the Arab world can be achieved only with U.S. help has collapsed."
