Former Iraqi Prime Minister and leader of the secular "Iraqia" List, Iyad Allawi on Sunday said that negotiations between the Iraqi factions have not led to results over the identity of the figures who will hold the three top positions, noting that it is not likely to achieve a breakthrough in the situation before September or October.
Allawi said also that the planned withdrawal of U.S. forces and the increased anger among Iraqis over the continuing attacks and high rates of unemployment as well as slowdown in government services created "unbalanced" political process and "a lot of problems," He warned a continuation of a "weak process" may lead to its collapse at the end of the road."
It should be mentioned that the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, General Ray Odernio has confirmed that the political crisis and continuing violence will not delay the plans to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq on schedule, but stressed he would be worried if the political crisis will not be solved by next October.
