The Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) threatened to quit if the pressure exerted on him to make concessions with regard to the Palestinian constants, issue of refugees and borders is intensified. Abbas said in an interview with Al Rai newspaper of Kuwait that "any pressure on me to make concessions on the issues of borders, refugees and other core issues, means I will carry my bags and leave."

Abbas also added "we will not leave Gaza to Hamas, and will not leave the West Bank to Hamas, or others. Everyone knows the conditions that made the coup which led to such division.
