Two videos have emerged apparently showing a Syrian man proudly sending his young daughters to undertake a suicide mission.
In the first, Abu Nimr films his wife, whose face is covered with the burqa, with the two girls.
“Why are you sending your daughters?” he asks from behind the camera. “One is seven and the other is eight, they're young for jihad.”
“No one is too young for jihad, because jihad is a duty for every Muslim,” Um Nimr replies.
Abu Nimr then says “takbir”, the call demanding the reply “Allahu Akbar”, before the children's’ mother embraces them, and they head towards the door.
In the second, the terrified-looking girls, Fatima and Islam, now in black chador head coverings, sit on their father’s knee. He asks the older of the girls about her “suicide mission” to Damascus.
"Damascus? You're young, you're only nine-years-old, why don't you leave this to the men? Have the men escaped? Have they left on the green buses?,” he questions, perhaps referring to the vehicles which have been used to transfer residents of East Aleppo to neighboring Idlib province following the recapture of the area by government forces last week.
“You want to surrender so that you're raped and killed by the infidels? You want to kill them, no? We're a glorious religion, not a religion of humiliation, isn't that so darling?”, Nimr continues.
“You won’t be scared, because you're going to God, isn't that right?” he asks the younger girl.
Abu Nimr is allegedly a member of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra), al-Qaeda in Syria. The UN estimated that there were around 900 militants from the group among rebels in East Aleppo. JFS is considered internationally to be a terrorist organization.
The video has been widely shared on social media, where it has received strong condemnation from many:
God’s curse upon you and upon anyone who helps you.
The most tragic scene I have seen to date.

God's curse is all that remains for this criminal who is sending his two daughters with an explosive belt in order to kill police in Damascus. A sample of the rabble of armed gangs in Syria - shocking video #Aleppo
The videos cannot be verified, however many have speculated that the girls may have been responsible for an explosion in a Damascus police station last Friday. Local media reported that the perpetrator was a girl of around seven years old. No-one was killed in the incident, which injured three officers.
