This month, the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh is engulfed in another bout with the deadly Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), sending fresh waves of public fear over the virus and making waves on social media.

If the name sounds familiar, it's because it is.  Just a few months ago, the deadly respiratory illness made international headlines when a Korean businessman returned from a trip to Saudi Arabia and infected 186 people with the virus in South Korea, 36 of whom later died. That outbreak was unique because it was the largest ton occur outside the Middle East since the virus was discovered in Saudi in 2012.

Now experts worry this Riyadh outbreak could sprial out of control. In the last 24 hours alone, doctors have confirmed 10 new cases and one death. Everyday since August 3, at least one new case has popped up.

It's not the first time this has happened in the kingdom, but on Twitter, Saudi users say the sudden explosion is the result of poor hospital management. And just before Hajj in September, people aren't so pleased about that. This week, this hashtag was trending throughout the kingdom:  #انهيار_السوق_السعودي, Arabic for "Corona virus in the National Guard Health Affairs hospital."

Here's a few responses.

Translation: If the ministry of Education failed to control the situation before the pilgrim season we will have a huge problem that no one can solve.

Translation: In Korea they sterilized every place the infected person walked into, where are you with this here?!

Translation: 1115 cases of Corona(MERS) have been recorded in KSA, 480 have passed away, a total failure for the health system.

Translation: Hospital crews should stop working If the ministry does not provide the necessary equipment to prevent infection.

Translation: Schools opening should be postponed to after the pilgrim season.

Translation:There are no guidelines and awareness campaigns for people, people don’t know what to do.

Translation: The government will pay attention and take necessary procedure only if a high positioned person got infected and died with Corona.
