According to a study of the world's most corrupt nations done by Transparency International last year, MENA's not looking so hot when it comes to government transparency. The study rates countries on a scale from 0, being the most corrupt, to 100, being the least.

9) Libya, 18/100 — By now we know it well. Since the Arab Spring overthrow of its long-time dictator Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has been torn apart by warring factions vying for control of a shaky interim government. So it's no surprise rampant corruption follows.
6) Iraq, 16/100 — No real surprise here. The US-led invasion shook the country to its core in 2003, and the Iraqi government's been shaky every since. While the US classifies its government as a Federal Parliamentary Constitutional Republic, but that's pretty debatable. When US forces left the country, a power vacuum of extremist groups and Shiite vs. Sunni controversy was born. All this, then add Daesh.
4) Afghanistan 12/100 — Not exactly MENA, but this Muslim world country is not doing so well either. A shaky Islamic Republic central government glues it together on paper, but tribal leaders and warlords play a heavy hand in politics.
