As if Iran wasn't troubling enough to the rest of the world, the country decided to not only host an international cartoon contest on Saudi Arabia's "invasion" in Yemen but also choose some pretty disturbing winners.
Tehran announced the winners Wednesday, and as usual most of the honorees — five out of six — were from Iran. The third place winner was from Yemen.
A reflection of the strained relationship between the two Islamic countries, Iran pulled no punches. Iran's well-known support of the Houthi movement has been an elephant in the room in nuclear talks with the US, which has been aiding Yemen's fugitive government but also wants a nuclear deal by June 30.
There are no words to describe some of these illustrations. (I'm looking at you, second place.) Just see for yourself.
