"Daesh bags" found in Turkey may have been a false alarm — but the irony wasn't lost on social media.

A Twitter user uploaded a photo that showed a woman, allegedly in Turkey, wearing a bag sporting the symbol most associated with the Daesh (ISIS) flag

The bag doesn't seem satirical; it's most likely not even a Daesh promotion. The symbol is a seal of the Prophet Muhammed, most often affiliated with Daesh since it was taken by the group to create its flag. That was pointed out by several people shortly after the photo was uploaded.

The hashtag #daeshbags has been trending over the past month, well before the bag photos were uploaded. The social media campaign is used mostly to spread awareness about Daesh atrocities — though it might be an opportune time for some laughs as well.
