International Coffee Day: Benefits of coffee and why to drink it

ALBAWABA - Coffee is one of the most popular and beloved beverages in the world, consumed by millions of people each day,  and it's for a reason.

Not only is it a delicious and aromatic drink, but it has been linked to numerous health benefits, on top of its' long rich history dating all the way back to the 9th century. 

As it happens to be International Coffee Day, we'll go over the benefits of it.

One of the main benefits of coffee is caffeine.

This is why many people turn to coffee as a choice in how they start their day, but there are those who also prefer to drink it midday, giving them a boost they might need.

Research has found that coffee drinkers are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes, liver disease, and certain types of cancer. This is due in part to the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of it.

it also contains a number of essential nutrients, including B vitamins, magnesium, and potassium. 

While the amount of these nutrients varies depending on the type of coffee and how it’s prepared, drinking it can be a great way to get a daily dose of vitamins and minerals.

It can also help someone on their weight loss journey. Caffeine is a natural stimulant that can increase metabolism and help the body burn fat for energy. 

This is why many weight loss supplements contain caffeine as an active ingredient. Drinking coffee 30 minutes or so before a workout can also help greatly.

5. Longer lifespan

As hard as it might be to believe, some studies have found that coffee drinkers are less likely to die from heart disease, respiratory disease, stroke, and diabetes. 

While there’s no single explanation for this, it’s thought that the antioxidants and other beneficial compounds in it may play a role in promoting overall health and longevity.

It is a delicious and versatile beverage that has been enjoyed by people all over the world for centuries with the addition of its benefits listed above.
