Egyptian actress Zizi Mustafa, who has returned to the acting world after 20 years, revealed that the reason she took off her ‘hijab’(female Islamic headdress) is due to a scalp disease. Zizi denied rumors that her daughter Egyptian actress Mina Shalabi forced her to take off her ‘hijab’and also denied that she stopped wearing it to return to acting.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Zizi said that wearing a ‘hijab’ is a matter between her and God, and no one has the right to judge her. She also said that recently she began losing her hair and when she consulted a specialist she was told that wearing a ‘hijab’ was one of the main causes for her hair loss.
Zizi said that her daughter was shocked, but was convinced it was the right choice not to wear a ‘hijab’ due to medical reasons.
“I do not fear negative criticism for taking off my ‘hijab’,” said Zizi, and when she made the decision to wear it she was fully convinced, and the same applied when she stopped.
Zizi denied that her return to the acting world is due to financial reasons and that her love of acting is the only motive for her return.
