Egyptian singer Tamer Husni has completed recording a new operetta titled “Masr Al Salam” (Egypt for Peace). The new operetta features around 100 child and is the first appearance for him after the crises he faced during the Egyptian January 25 Revolution that overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak. During the revolution, Tamer had gone to Cairo’s Tahrir Square to participate with protesters, but was rejected and thrown out due to statements he made in support of the former president.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Tamer revealed that he had sought the assistance of a sign language specialist to train him and the children for a section of the operetta wanting his message to reach all citizens of Egypt. He added that the song aims at uniting all different sects in Egypt, which is also the aim of every Egyptian.
Tamer stressed that he is not attempting to improve his image with the new song that was blemished during the revolution, due to the fact that he justified his position to the protesters and clarified that he supported their cause one hundred percent.
The singer said that these days the goal of every Egyptian should be to help rebuild Egypt and oversee any personal differences.
