In an attempt to save his first television drama “Adam” from collapsing, Egyptian singer Tamer Husni has announced that he will be lowering his wage. Tamer said that he will accept half of the previously decided on wage for his role in order to have the drama ready for airing during the Ramadan season.
After continued negotiations with the makers of the drama, Tamer agreed to lower his wage by as much as 10 million Egyptian pounds. Negotiations also included other actors and even the director and writer of the drama, who all agreed on lowering their wages by 25 percent. After the financial changes, producer of the drama began filming the remaining scenes in the Al Ahram area in Cairo.
Tamer had requested writer of the drama to include events that occurred during the recent Egypt January 25 Revolution, which overthrew the government of former Egyptian President Husni Mubarak, to win the hearts of viewers. It is said that the final episodes of the drama will feature surprise events that have to do with the revolution.
The drama is directed by Mohammad Sami and will also star Mai Izz El Din, Durrah Razouq, Afaf Shu’aib, Ahmad Zaher and Abd Al Rahman Abu Zahrah.
