Stars in Egypt have shown their support and even participated in the current political revolution underway in Egypt against the government of President Husni Mubarak and his regime.
Among those that headed out to the streets of Egypt to join protesters is actress Muna Zaki.
"People have the right to speak out and using violence against protesters only leads people to retaliate," said Muna.
The government should respect the demands of its citizens, she said, and called on the government to open the door for dialogue to to reach a just solution.
Others who joined the protests are director Amro Salama, actor Khaled Abu Al Naja, actor Amro Waked, and Khaled Al Nabawi.
On the other hand, there are those who wished not to be part of the protests and either left the country or kept silent. Singer Amr Diab and actress Nelly Kareem both left Egypt with their families.
Actress Laila Elwi decided to keep silent and not make any comments since she is a blood relative of Husni Mubarak. Other stars decided to stay out of sight fearing the consequences of their comments.
