Prominent Egyptian superstar Amro Diab is following up on the condition of the injured persons who were immediately hospitalized after the stadium collapsed during his concert at the Al Mustaqbal University in Egypt. The singer had refused to leave the hospital until he was assured that every person admitted was recovering.
The university’s board of directors called in over 35 ambulances to transfer the injured at the concert that took place on Friday December 10. Thirty individuals were taken to Al Bank Al Ahli hospital and another thirty to Al Youm Al Wahid hospital.
Twenty three individuals were released from the first hospital after receiving the necessary medical attention and the remaining seven remained since their conditions are more severe, which included broken bones.
The singer had insisted on accompanying the injured to hospital and refused to leave the hospital until all conditions were stable. Diab is now following up on the injured through the phone.
Diab had stopped singing at the beginning of his concert when a large number of fans had followed into a ditch that was seven meters deep and covered with wooden boards. Police officials are currently undergoing investigation to get to the bottom of the catastrophe.
