Time heals, so does music. And this is proving true in the case of Moroccan superstar Samira Said, who lost her mother to cancer in April.

But the singer is slowly coming out of her mourning by resuming work on her new album, after close friends and relatives convinced her that it’s the best way to keep herself busy and gradually get over her grief.

According to Laha Magazine, Samira had returned to Cairo two weeks ago after attending her mother’s funeral in Rabat. A second funeral was held at the grieving starlet’s Cairo home upon her return.

Samira is currently running through the different song options in store so that she can hit the recording studio soon.

Last week, it was announced that her latest single “Ma Zal” (Still) has been a smash hit in Spain, France and the Arab world.

Samira will be heading to Morocco at the end of this current month to accept a World Music Award for “Best Released Single” for “Still.”

Glad to see you back up on your feet, Sams!
