Director Uthman Abu Laban stated that Egyptian singer/actress Ruby is not part of the upcoming television drama “Al Muwatin X” (Citizen X), which filming of the scenes began recently. The drama is scheduled to be aired during the upcoming Ramadan season.
Utham stressed that Ruby was never part of the drama’s cast and neither he nor any of the drama makers ever nominated her for a role in the drama. Uthman added that he was chosen to direct the drama after all the casts were nominated and he is placing great efforts in order to have it ready for Ramadan.
On a different note, Ruby has been nominated for the leading role in the new film “Sihr Al Ishiq” (The magic of love) instead of prominent Egyptian actress Laila Elwi, who was previously nominated for the role from the moment the film was written. The film has been postponed for the past five years due to production obstacles.
