In her first official statement after the provocative video released over the internet, Lebanese television broadcaster Razan Moughrabi denied fleeing Egypt and being banned from entering it. Razan also denied rumors that she is facing lawsuits because of the video.
Razan made her statements through a press release that also said she is currently in Egypt and not in a hospital in France as was alleged on different internet websites, stressing that no one had forbidden her from entering Egypt. Razan also stated that she did not leave her show “Li’bat Al Hayat” (Life’s game) on the Egyptian satellite channel ‘Al Hayat’.
Razan also said that she was not eliminated from the Egyptian Actors Union, because she is not a member of it since she is not Egyptian and works in Egypt as a foreigner and needs a permit to undertake any project.
The press release also stated that Razan wishes the media be honest about the news that is released and not tie her name with crimes that are a far fetch from the truth. Razan said that there is a conspiracy against her and someone had stolen her husband’s laptop which featured the provocative video.
Razan stated that what had led her to make an official press release is the fact that the video that was stolen was circulated over the internet and people began attacking her reputation calling her demeaning names. Razan stressed that the man in the video is her husband, whom she married in secrecy due to family differences, and the gathering was a private one.
In the video, Razan is narrating a sex film of her and her husband and then begins to act out some of the scenes that are very provocative and inappropriate.
