The makers of the new film “Al Shawq” (Desire) including the leading actress in the film Egyptian singer Ruby are facing a new crisis with movie theaters that were supposed to screen the film. The film is part of the International Cairo Film Festival that is to be launched early next month.

According to the London based Elaph, there were numerous movie theaters that were chosen to screen the films that are part of the festival, but due to the overload of films that were released during the recent Muslim holiday Eid Al Adha, movie theaters have refused to include any more films, meaning that the film by Ruby will not be screened.

Due to this obstacle, Mamdooh Al Laithi, head of the Egyptian cinema association, said that he will reserve his personal movie theaters to screen the film by Ruby. Despite the fact that the movie theaters reserved by Mamdooh are not up to standards and far from the center of Cairo, the festival’s organizers had no other choice but to accept screening the film and made a public announcement regarding the matter.

It is expected that the film makers will be facing numerous obstacles once the film is screened due to the poor quality of the movie theaters that will not be able to take in the amount of audiences expected to attend the screening.
