Prominent singer Marcel Khaleefah and artist Firas Ibrahim were admitted to hospital after being in a car accident. The car, which was driven by Firas, collided with another in the Syrian city of Dir’a in the south.
Marcel was slightly injured, whereas Firas suffered broken bones and is currently under supervision at the French hospital in Damascus.
The two men were returning from a tour they had taken as part of special preparations for the upcoming television drama that tackles the life of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darweesh.
Firas had previously and before the accident announced that he will produce the drama about the late poet. The storyline of the drama was written by Hassan Yousib and it will be directed by prominent Syrian director Najdat Anzour. Filming of the first scenes of the drama will begin directly after the upcoming Muslim holiday Eid Al Adha.
